GrantsPlus Program Deadline Approaching

The deadline to submit initial applications for Wheat Ridge Ministries’ GrantsPlus Program is July 15.  The GrantsPlus Program supports new and innovative health and human care programs led by congregations and nonprofit organizations affiliated with the Lutheran community.  Grants range from $5,000 to $50,000 over two to three years.  Learn more

Wheat Ridge and Thrivent Award $36,000 for Joshua Grants in Chicagoland

Wheat Ridge Ministries, in collaboration with the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Chicagoland Regional Office, recently awarded four grants from the Joshua Grant Program totaling $36,000.  The Joshua Grant Program provides start-up funding and resources to Lutheran-affiliated congregations beginning new, bold and courageous ministries in their community.  Read more

CUEM Hosts “Best Practices in Urban Education” Summit

The Center for Urban Education Ministries (CUEM), an initiative of Wheat Ridge Ministries, in partnership with the Chicagoland Lutheran Education Foundation (CLEF), recently hosted 13 individuals from across the country in a roundtable summit on successful models in urban education.  Read more

Making an Impact … Rwamagana Lutheran School

Thanks to the generous prayers and financial support from our donors, Wheat Ridge Ministries continues to support inspired leaders around the world as they are developing new and innovative projects … projects such as the “Rwamagana Lutheran School” in Rwanda, Africa.
Just as he took his first steps as a toddler, Jimmy walked into a world gone seemingly mad. At the age of two, both of Jimmy’s parents were killed in the widespread political genocide that swept across his country of Rwanda in Central Africa, killing more than one million people in 1994. It was a difficult beginning to a difficult life.  Read more
