Workshops
Mark Schoepp, Wheat Ridge Ministries’ Church Relations Representative, offers two workshops that will provide your congregation, staff, or pastoral conference with relevant insights on how the brain works, how it impacts our work, and how we can keep it in good shape (along with the rest of the body).
The format can be tailored to a 60 minute Bible study to a half-a-day workshop or conference seminar. Both are great for teacher in-service days!
Workshop Options
NEW! “Starting Health and Wellness Ministries” - help in the early stages of planning for a new ministry initiative in the area of health and wellness, including helpful steps and pitfalls to avoid.
“The Importance of Play for the Brain”
The workshop looks at strong evidence for the importance of play for children as they develop and for adults in order to stay healthy and ready for strong service.
“The workshop was fascinating and very helpful in evaluating not only how we live our lives and care for our bodies (and brains), but also how to intentionally plan education and worship experiences.”
Pastor, East Wenatchee, WA
“Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength”
The workshop looks at three simple elements that have a huge impact on brain function: Exercise, Diet, and Play/Rest/Sleep. With strong science to back it up, the workshop shares insights that have direct application to your classroom, confirmation class, or worship planning, and on how you conduct meetings, raise your children, and perform at work! We’ll explore:
- How the brain changes and the implications of negative and positive changes;
- A simple way to understand how the brain functions; and
- The implications of brain research on faith formation in the home, church, and school.
