Ministry Sabbatical Center
The Ministry Sabbatical Resource Center promotes a sabbatical leave for rest and renewal to support the Whole Person Health of the ministry leader and the congregation. The Resource Center provides consulting support for congregations and ministry leaders as they implement a sabbatical policy and plan the sabbatical experience.
Wheat Ridge Ministries’ original five-year sabbatical pilot program funded over 30 grants through the generous support of four donors who care deeply about the health of ministry leaders and their congregations. The program effectively seeded the sabbatical concept in congregations where ministry leaders had not had the opportunity to take a sabbatical. It also led to discovering ways to make the sabbatical process one that is rich, renewing, and rewarding for both the recipient and the congregation.
We encourage congregations and ministry leaders considering a ministry sabbatical to explore our Resource Center as they plan the sabbatical experience.
