Wheat Ridge Ministries recently elected four new members to its Board of Directors:

Wheat Ridge Ministries is pleased to announce that The Rev. Mark Halaas has joined its staff as a Regional Development Officer. Mark will assist the development team in building stronger relationships with Minnesota congregations and individuals who share a passion for the seeding activities of Wheat Ridge Ministries.

Wheat Ridge Ministries recently approved seven grants totaling $210,407 to assist new ministries of health and hope.

Wheat Ridge Ministries, along with the Ammerman Center for Creative Aging, recently co-hosted a summit in Venice, Florida entitled, "Women of Faith and Vision … Creating a New Definition of Aging."

Wheat Ridge Ministries, in partnership with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), is offering financial assistance to Lutheran congregations to encourage the development of new programs and services for immigrants and refugees.

Wheat Ridge Ministries will bring together people of faith from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives at its 2008 National Symposium on Health and Hope, slated for October 2-4, 2008 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Deaconess E. Louise Williams, Mr. Timothy Hetzner and Mr. Roger W. Paulsberg will each be recognized with a Wheat Ridge Ministries 2008 "Seeds of Hope" Award at the Ninth Annual Benefit Dinner on February 2, 2008 at the European Crystal Banquet and Conference Center, Arlington Heights, Illinois.

Wheat Ridge Ministries is pleased to announce that Ms. Marlene Lund has been named as the Executive Director of its Center for Urban Education Ministries.  Marlene brings a strong educational background to the position and continues to dedicate her vocational life to urban education.

Wheat Ridge Ministries, along with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, is pleased to host a Living Well Day for Professional Church Workers in Southeast Michigan on Friday, November 9, 2007.
