Hope for the Children Campaign

The Holy Scriptures tell the story of Jesus’ birth and His life here on earth. Jesus provided us with an example for all to follow. All people are important to God. And it’s safe to say that He wants us to be His hands here on earth. That’s why Wheat Ridge Ministries’ 2008 Annual Christmas Campaign is so vital. And why your participation in this campaign is so critical.

Wheat Ridge Ministries would simply not be able to fulfill its mission to “seed new ministries of health and hope in the name of the healing Christ” without faithful and generous partners like you. Please review the three ministry programs that will be seeded in this campaign through Wheat Ridge and your gifts. Please prayerfully consider your role in supporting these vital initiatives and then feel free to donate to this special cause online on our secure website.

Thank you and God bless you.

Lutheran Health Care Center

Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated countries in the world, having a population of 120 million people. About 80 percent of these people live in rural communities. World health statistics in this region indicate high mortality rates — the infant mortality rate is 70 percent. The main causes of death remain infectious and communicable disease.

For people living in Baniarchar, the nearest health care facilities are 50 miles away. The children and families living there deserve to receive proper medical vaccinations and treatment.

POBLO International Ministries has proven its success in building and equipping health care ministries in Afghanistan, Northern India and Pakistan. Providing health care serves the community in love and draws people to hear the message of hope and salvation that is possible through Jesus Christ.

With your help, Wheat Ridge Ministries will provide a grant of $45,000 to help build and expand the Lutheran Health Care Center. Please prayerfully consider what your role may be to ensure that these funds are made available. Donate online to this special cause...

Experience the Embrace

The deinstitutionalization movement of the 1980s has greatly increased the need for caretaker programs. Although this change has created many benefits for families, many of these families suffer due to the increased stress of providing constant care for their children with disabilities. Very often these children require specialized care making it impossible for parents to have any time alone with each other.

Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas, initiated a program called Experience the Embrace through the Respite Outreach Care for Kansans Organization. This program provides skilled volunteers who create a safe and fun environment for both the children with disabilities and other siblings in these families. Meanwhile, parents receive time to address their own needs.

The goal of the Experience the Embrace program is to expand nationally and welcome 300,000 caregivers to “experience the embrace” of this respite care ministry.

With your help, Wheat Ridge Ministries will provide a grant of $50,000 to fund this vital program. Please prayerfully consider what your role may be to ensure that these funds are made available. Donate online to this special cause...

Partners in Education

Jesus often walked alongside of others to support them in their time of need. Christ Lutheran Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, is doing just that. By walking alongside of their local public middle school, they are targeting extremely high drop out rates — hoping to provide the tools needed to keep children in school.

Tutors and mentors are walking alongside of students to help them keep their grades up. One night a week, the entire family can receive a free hot meal in an environment that provides support and education for everyone.

Not only are students getting excited about learning, parents are as well. Parent University offers English as a second language courses for parents to help them participate more fully in the academic lives of their children. More classes will be offered for parents in the future, including computer skills training, financial training and job search preparation.

The popular Back-To-School Kick-Off provides backpacks and other much-needed school supplies to children who might not otherwise have them. And a Summer Enrichment Program keeps kids engaged year-round through field trips, service projects, music and games.

Partners in Education truly exemplifies God’s commission to “love one another.” Hundreds of volunteers are reaching out in love to their community. The goal of this program is to assist hundreds of children and keep the drop out rate low in their community.

With your help, Wheat Ridge Ministries will provide a grant of $50,000 to fund this vital program. Please prayerfully consider what your role may be to ensure that these funds are made available. Donate online to this special cause...
