June/July 2008 -- White House Summit on Inner-City Children and Faith-Based Schools – April 23, 2008
Faith-based urban schools in our nation have provided critically important educational alternatives to inner city low income and minority students. The purpose of this summit was to gather together expert educators and representatives of faith-based schools to examine the disappearance of many such schools despite their success with educating underprivileged students. Four panels of distinguished educators eloquently but forcefully illuminated the factors leading to these closings and provided some hopeful directions. Read more and comment...
