June 25, 2008 -- Wheat Ridge Ministries and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) Award Grants to Lutheran Congregations for Refugee and Immigrant Ministries
The Good Samaritan Fund grants committee – consisting of representatives from Wheat Ridge Ministries and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) – is pleased to announce $46,364 in grants will go to 11 congregations in eight states for 2008. Individual grant amounts of up to $5,000 fund such things as English as a Second Language (ESL), citizenship and job training classes, immigrant youth activities, and skills to thrive in a new culture. more...

Wheat Ridge believes that sabbatical leave for rest and renewal is a significant way that congregations can support and encourage the health and wellness of church leaders. This grant program is being implemented as a pilot project of Wheat Ridge Ministries.
